5 Ways to Wear Coloured Jeans

Coloured jeans are a great wardrobe staple and can help you break up the monotony of wearing your favourite blue and black jeans non stop. If you’ve been guilty of neglecting the colour over the winter months, it’s time to inject some into your looks this spring. Here are five ways to wear coloured jeans:

  1. Green

Green might not be a colour you’d usually associate with jeans, but a bold emerald shade or a darker khaki is ideal for working with a crisp white shirt and brown boots for a casual, sophisticated look. Great for heading into town or even in the office on dress down Friday.

If your jeans are a darker, khaki shade then go for the ultimate comfy, chic look with white low rise Converse, a baggy stripy top and a wide brimmed fedora.

  1. Yellow

A sunny yellow pair of women’s jeans are perfect for bringing some much needed colour to your spring wardrobe, and are great in either a mustard hue or a bold sunny side up shade.

Take some inspiration from Gwen Stefani who took a bright pair of jeans and paired them with a basic, white tee and boots – some might say this look is reminiscent of a fried egg but we say it’s one that needs to catch on.

  1. Red

Red jeans instantly make you think of Parisian chic, croissants and taking selfies in front of the Eiffel tower, which is definitely why you should be pairing them with a classic striped Breton style tee.

Alternatively, a blue denim shirt looks amazing with red and can either be worn casual with some comfy Vans or dressed up for the evening with a pair of wedge heels.

  1. Pastel

Pastel coloured jeans have gained in popularity recently, with soft bubblegum and mint shades introduced to many wardrobes. Usually available in green, pink and yellow shades, they work perfectly with the ruffled trend we’re currently enjoying, in blouses and t-shirts.

Pastel jeans can help you create that whimsical, romantic look – great for Saturday day time dates and walks round the park.

  1. Magenta

Maroons and pinks are the perfect colours to wear around Autumn time, so save these jeans for when the leaves turn again. Great for pairing with grey and black, magenta jeans are flattering on any shape and can work for day or night looks. Throw on a loose grey t-shirt for a casual daytime look and then switch things up in the evening with a black body worn underneath the jeans and some dangerous looking heels.

Coloured jeans should be embraced more, so if you have a pair in the wardrobe that you’ve been unsure of wearing outside the house take them off the hanger today, pair them with something similar to the outfit ideas above and get out there.

One final point – boys, there’s no need to fear a bit of colour. Safer shades for fellas include burgundy, electric blue and red. Just choose the top half of the outfit carefully, to compliment the jeans; check out this range of Superdry polo shirts and hit summer in style.
