Recipe: Green Chocolate Smoothie

Silica is an essential trace mineral that occurs naturally in the body. It is related to strong and healthy connective tissues, collagen and elastin production and calcium absorption. It is also a binding agent for heavy metals like aluminium to help flush these toxins from the body.

As you can see, ensuring we include silica in our diets is important for our beauty and wellbeing. Some natural sources of silica include leeks, green beans, strawberries, cucumber, mango, celery, asparagus, rhubarb, apples, raw cabbage, carrots, cucumber, pumpkin, oats, honey, fish, unrefined grains, almonds and oranges.

We have a Green Chocolate Smoothie recipe from the Changing Habits, Changing Lives Cookbook, by leading nutritionist, bestselling author and health educator Cyndi O’Meara
