Kate’s Spring Beauty Trends

Bright orange lipstick

I’ve been seeing this shade pop up all over the place on the international runways and I think it’s the perfect shade to inject a little fun into your Spring makeup routine. As it is a standout shade, I’d pair it with a natural face and a nude eye, perhaps with a touch of shimmer and loads of mascara to make your eyes pop. Orange of course isn’t for everyone – if your skin falls on the fairer side, try a gorgeous shade of coral instead. I also find that matt lipsticks work best for strong colours (if you’re adding gloss keep a mirror handy in case it bleeds). I’ll be checking out the shades that Nutrimetics will be showcasing at Beautiful You Australia to get inspired!

Metallic eyes

You can thank the metallic clothing trend for setting shimmer to be THE look for makeup this Spring. Paired with a cute floral dress or a fun printed top for evening, metallic eyes are a pretty and fun way to add some glamour into your springtime look. I’d start with a natural toned eyeshadow topped with a great gold or bronze glitter for a fab gilded affect. I’d wear this look with a sun kissed bronzer on the cheeks and a nude lipgloss to allow your eyes to do the talking. If you want to amp up the glam factor, add a liquid liner cats eye for a standout look. So chic!

Fresh skin

Nothing beats fresh and well looked after skin for the ultimate Spring beauty look. Make sure you incorporate a gentle exfoliator into your daily skincare routine to rid the face of dead skin. I like to combine a dewy foundation with an illuminating primer to give the skin a natural looking glow. Finish off with a sweet light pink blush and a hint of mascara and you’re ready to go! I’m really excited that Sukin will be exhibiting at Beautiful You Australia this year as they have a tonne of amazing products for gorgeous skin and hair.

Messy Plaits

As I’m always on the go with work and travel, I’m loving that such a relaxed, yet trendy hairstyle will be in for Spring. I use a dry shampoo to give the look extra texture. Tip: wear your plait to the side for a cute yet fresh look. Perfect for a Spring time BBQ or dinner date. I can’t wait to visit the TONI&GUY Fashion Fix Bar and get their Textured Rope Braid look!
