Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson was already going to be in Australia this September for the Deni Ute Muster and now Chugg Entertainment have confirmed that she will also be playing arena shows in most capital cities.

Winning the first season of American Idol in 2002 kicked Kelly’s career into gear, her first album was released in 2003 and ten years on Kelly is still pulling crowds – and entertaining the socks off of them.

All 5 of Kelly’s albums have debuted in the Top 5 in Australia, her latest album STRONGER debuted at #3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and is certified platinum. Channel 7’s ads for Once Upon A Time feature the current single, Darkside, which is sure to make it  a well known melody in no time.

Don’t You Wanna Stay is her hit single with Jason Aldean and it recently saw her awarded a Country Music Association Award and 2 American Country Awards.

In her 10 year career Kelly Clarkson has released 5 studio albums and sold almost 1 million albums in Australia – over 20 million worldwide.  Eight of her singles have made the Top 10 of the ARIA Singles Chart. All of the albums have done really well but it’s 2004’s BREAKAWAY that really hit the big-time with its 7x-platinuim status, 12 million albums sales worldwide, five Top 10 hits and it was on the charts for two years. Clarkson has also been the recipient of two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two MTV Music Awards and 11 Billboard Music Awards.

Kelly Clarkson has an outstanding vocal range and a large part of her appeal is the ease with which she crosses genre, demonstrated by the fact that she became the first ever artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in the Country Songs, Adult Pop Songs and Dance/Club Play Songs charts.

Lyrics are another drawcard amassing Clarkson fans with her powerhouse voice and anthemic empowerment songs, some of these are the hits Miss Independent, Since U Been Gone, Walk Away, Never Again and the new one Mr. Know It All.

Joining Kelly Clarkson for this leg of the tour will be current openers The Fray, a Denver-based foursome who have reached double platinum status in Australia. Their debut album How To Save A Life reached #a in the ARIA charts and featured the #1 single of the same name.

Opening the shows will be Australia’s own Sarah De Bono, recently brought into the homes and hearts of millions of Australians on the Australian debut season of Channel Nine’s The Voice. Sarah De Bono is another versatile performer.
