Lovers of books, collectors of books, there is a fabulous new innovation that will lighten the load on your bookshelf considerably. Okay, so it won’t save all your space issues right away but if these little cuties take off they could definitely make a difference.
Featured in the recent Beauty and Lace Goodie Box are the new revolution Flipback books. These books are the cutest little things I’ve seen in a while, when it comes to books at least. They open top to bottom and are printed sideways on the page, cutting down on wasted space in the margins and allowing an entire novel to be printed in a book only a little larger than a smartphone or classic iPod.
The paper used for these books is very thin so even a 700 page book is not very thick, they are printed on Indoprint, a FSC-certified paper manufactured without chloride or sulphide from an environmentally sustainable paper pulp.
It is strange for me to say, out loud anyway because my friends would probably not be surprised, but these books bring out that clucky maternal side in me. You know, the one that has you clucking ‘awww sooo cute’ at strangers babies – yes that’s the effect these little flipbacks have on me. But don’t judge me, I’m not crazy – Promise!
Flipback Books, an entire novel about the size of a smartphone – think how many of those would fit on a regular bookcase.
At the moment there are 18 titles available as Flipbacks and the two featured in the Beauty and Lace Box were Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier and What I Loved by Siri Hustvedt, both of which were bestsellers when originally released.
Also included in the list of Flipback books currently available are the International bestsellers Misery by Stephen King, Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper and The Bone Collector by Jeffrey Deaver. For the complete list of Flipback titles head to the website: www.flipbackbooks.com
Flipback books have an RRP of $19.95 each.
I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
